Karin's last week!

Hello Marsha and Laura, since you two seem to be the only ones left (with me) on this challenge!  I am really proud of both of you and you should definitely be super proud of yourselves for all you have accomplished!  My last week was a great one - in fact very similar to Marsha's in that I too lost 3 pounds!!  I was so excited to see that number on the scale.  I haven't met my goal either but I am starting to see a significant difference in the way I look and how my clothes fit.  I can even wear a pair of jeans I have not been able to wear for two years - and they fit better now than they did then.  My total for the week is 52 making my total 616.  Marsha it looks like we tied for the winner and I will bring you half the pot next week when I get back into town. 
This is the second time I have done this challenge and I must say it really helps me to stay on track because I have something and someone to be accountable to.  Even though we are done keep working hard and eating right.  You ladies are amazing and can accomplish anything if you keep on working at it.  It was a great challenge and I wish you both much success in the future!!

Nana's last two weeks

So it feels like things are really starting to come together!  I feel so much better on the inside~more energy.  My last two weeks have been good, I lost 3 inches making that week's total 564.  This last week was the most exciting for me though, I finally lost 3 more pounds.  Even though I did not reach my original weight loss goal I have the momentum going and plan on keeping up this challenge.  Last week's number  was 52 making a grand total of 616.  Thanks for this opportunity:)   Marsha

Laura's Last Week

Ok, here goes.  I lost 1 inch this week but gained 2 lbs??? So my 12th week total is 48.  Grand total of 599!!! I did not reach my goal but I am happier than when we started.  I lost a total of 4 lbs and 7 inches!  I have started a routine that I hope to add too and get my results over winter.  This was a kick start and I plan on continuing to watch my totals.

Laura week 11

Did not lose weight but 1 inch this week.  Total for week 11 is 50 grand total of 551.  My goal was 7-10 pounds and I have done 6 - so I am going to continue after this challenge.  I have never really kept track of inches before but I have lost 6 inches!!! I am really going to try as it gets colder to have a routine and finish my goal, before swimsuit weather next  year.

weeks 10 and 11

Marsha I know how you feel about the no substantial weight loss, but I too continue to lose inches.  My body just doesn't like to drop the pounds.  That has been very frustrating this whole challenge, but I have consistently lost inches so that is a good thing.  I didn't post last week but points were 52 - 2 inches and 1 pound.  Points this week were 52 - 1.5 inches and 1 pound.  Total 564.  This is out last week ladies so keep going strong!  All of you who have stuck with it great job!  Even if you are not at your goal (like me) you have to be proud of what you have accomplished thus far and you are that much closer now to your goal then you were three months ago!  Saturday is the last day so work hard this week!  If every one has not posted their results by next Sunday night then the winner(s) will have to wait until the following weekend for results and bounty because I am going out of town on the 10th.
And, just because the challenge is ending doesn't mean we all have to go crazy and lose all the ground we have gained!  We are all amazing women and we can reach our goals - just keep working hard and don't give up!!!

Got depressed last week again no lose for week 9, tried to forget about it and did a good job because I did not get on the blog.  This Monday also, NOTHING!  Is it over yet??? I know the difference is my running - if I don't run and just do pilates and walking/hiking/or casual bike ride it does not work for me.  I will try harder this week.  So not sure of total will figure it out - I really thought I was prepared but guess not.

Nana 9th week

Nine weeks going and I have not lost even half of what I wanted but I am feeling better inside and the exercise has really been beneficial.  I have to drag out of bed at 5:00am to get it all in before the grandkids come~that means I have to go to bed on time (early to bed and early to rise, makes a man healthy and wealthy and wise), I could use some healthy, wealthy, and wise!  I lost one more pound and two inches, making my points for the week 52.  That is a total of 460.  Marsha:)

Heather, week 9

So this week, much like most recent, I've been bad.  44 points, stupid treats, for a total of 399.  I am not even going to bother measuring or checking with my pencil.  hump.  At least I am muffin top free- I was still wanting better from myself.  Oh, self control, where are you!!  I was off treats and doing great.  NOw I eat them, feel disgusting but still want them.  I need will power- anyone have some to spare?

Nana's 7th and 8th week

We have been having problems getting our Internet up but with some help from professionals we found out we did not rewire correctly when we moved our room around.  I love the new arrangement and love that I can get back onto the Internet!  So I have only done so-so for #7 with 49 points but I did much better on #8 and gained 52 points.  My total is 408.  My cousin has a site called The Truth In Diabetes, he has issued a challenge of 30 or 60 days with NO SUGAR except what is naturally in food such as fruits.  I have decided to take it up and it is crazy hard but I am really feeling good inside.  I am still enjoying this challenge.  My clothes feel different on me even tho my mirror is telling me I am still the same (I'll show you, mirror!)  Marsha

Laura's Week 8

Wow 8 weeks already!  I am really happy I took this challenge - it has made me account for what I am putting into my body.  I have been sick this week with a sinus infection and have not done more than necessary on exercise, but still lost 1 lb and 1 inch.  I am almost to my goal and never thought I would come close.  I know the last few pounds are the hardest but I am really trying my best.  My total is now 403.

Holy cow!  We only have 4 weeks left!  That is amazing.  Great job to everyone still working at reaching their goals.  I didn't lose anything this week but got all my points.  I have started a new exercise program that is not as intense as my last one so I have decided to add in some extra cardio on my weight lifting days to help balance that out.  My total points are 408.

Laura's 6th week

Baggie pants this week, felt great.  I knew something has changed.  I lost 1 lb and 2 inches!!!! this week is 52 points with a total of 302.  I am so excited I did not even want ice cream when everyone else was having some.  I like the small changes but wish they were a little bigger.

I had a good week.  I did my Shakeology cleanse and lost 2 pounds and 1 inch so that is great!  We'll see if I can keep up my streak and continue to lose.  Every week I am getting closer to my goal!  Yay!  Can you believe we are half way through the challenge?!  That is awesome!  Points for the week 52 and total points 309.

Heather, week 6

Well, this week I cheated more than ever.  I now have two weeks to really make a huge difference!  My husband and I are getting away for the 3rd time since we've had children.  Thanks, Gma Cyndee:o)  So I want to look super hot.  I almost pass the pencil test, but not quite.. This was a great week for me!  My plan to cut back to only 1 healthy carb per day let me break that stupid plateau and I lost 2 pounds and 1 inch!  Woo hoo!  My point total for the week is 52.  I am hoping that this next week will be a good one too since I am doing my 3 day Shakeology cleanse.  I am excited to see how it helps push me along.  I think, but might be wrong, that my total points are 257.  I am really proud of everyone this challenge!  It sounds like so many of you are really seeing results and paying attention to working out and eating more healthy!  Great job everyone.  Keep it up.

Christian Week 4

Really late on posting my basement has flooded 3 times this week so its been a crazy week.  Luckily only once bad but caught it the 2 other times before it flooded bad.  I lost 1.5 pounds and 1/2 inch so if I'm doing this correctly (sorry 1/2 through me off) my points would be 51.  Sorry don't have running total.  I'll total it up for the next post.

This last week flew by. I can't believe I forgot to post. My week 4 I lost 3 lbs so my total points are 49. That makes the grand total 183. I will post my point etc for week 5 tomorrow after I weigh in (and I don't think it will be good :(

Laura Week 3/4

Had a hard week 3 being at girls camp.  Did not have time to weigh before I left.  I did not lose any weight but did plenty of hiking and fun exercising and maintained!!  So week 3 total is 49.  Week 4 I did lose 1 lb. so total is 50, total of all 4 weeks is 201.  Kids started school so I am hoping with a tighter schedule I will be more focused on me.

I am late posting this week!  I lost 2 lbs. and 2 inches - yea!  I lost lbs. despite my husband eating a cupcake, Skittles, Laffy Taffy, and chips as I used the treadmill!  I told him he should have joined this challenge - but he doesn't have any weight to lose (he obviously needs to eat better though!)  It's 52 points for me this week.

So, I'm back on the map. I've maintained my weight after my schedule got screwy-gaining a few then losing them again.  I am over an inch smaller everywhere which is encouraging. I'm happy that my head is still in the game and I keep picking myself up. My total points are 149. I'm keepin' on!

I've officially hit a plateau with weight loss.  I have stayed exactly the same for 3 weeks now but my inches continue to drop so that is good.  I have a plan for this week and then next week since it is my rest week in work outs (but not really a rest week just not as intense working out) I will be doing a 3 day cleanse - where I even get to eat all my fruits and veggies.  No starvation cleanses for me!!  Anyway I think by doing these two things I will overcome this plateau and move down on the scale.  My points this week are 51, I lost 2 inches.  My point total is 205.  Keep it up ladies and Eric!!

Shanna's end of week 3/4

Hi! This is Shanna. Things are going ok so far with this challenge for me. The really ridiculus thing is that I struggle with the fruits and vegetables. It really shouldn't be so hard, but it apparrently is for me. I have decided to adopt another vice, one even more challenging for me at the recommendation of my trainer. I will not be having unhealthy sugars for this challenge (yep, I'm right there with you, Danna, even if it kills me!). I haven't been very good at posting, but here is what the first few weeks have looked like:

Week 1: 39 points; no bonus points- I had a weight gain :(
Week 2: 44 points; I got 3 additional points for a weight loss :)
Week 3: 36 points; no bonus points- weight gain
Week 4 (still in progress): 38 points so far; I will calculate in today's points later- I had a 5 pound weight loss this week! :)
That brings my total so far to 157 points with today's to be added in later.

This week was harder for me but I still got everything in.  I think I need to make my workouts harder and have more intervals.  That's why I like this quote.  It helps to remind me that I can't do the same workout over and over and expect to get results.  I need to change it up.  I still got my minutes in. I only lost 1.5 pounds and 2 inches.  I definetely took my cheat day since we had a family reunion over the weekend but didn't over indulge and stayed away from it on Friday.  I don't have as much will power as Trish ;)   My points for the week are 52 I need to double check with the points but I'm pretty sure I got everything.

Amy's Week Three

My total was 101.  This week I lost 1.5 lbs. and 2 in., yeah!  However, with going to 2 baby showers, Park City (Harry and David's Mondo Mint Malt Balls - YUM!), and making a really pretty layered ice cream dessert for our Sunday dinner with guests, I had 2 cheat days - again.  My point total is now 152.

I had a really great week this week.  My mother in law was in town and although we did lots of fun stuff and there was always unhealthy stuff around I did not cheat until my cheat day so good job me!!  I finally, finally lost 1 in off my butt!  Woo Hoo!!!!  I lost a total of 3 in but I am most proud and happy about the one off my behind!  No pounds though.  Oh well, as long as the inches keep coming off I am doing good.  My total for the week is 52.  Running total is 154.  Keep it up ladies.  You can do it!

Nana's week 3

So we took a trip to Yellowstone and I thought I was really going to  be in trouble but I was surprized at the way I could find menu items that were compatible with my food restrictions.  So while my family enjoyed their fatty and sugary cusine, I was delightedly keeping with salads and fish and grilled chicken and cool refreshing H 2 O.  Hiking around and climbing steep trails I was able to loose one pound and 2 inches.  My running total for this week is 156:)           Marsha

Three or four cheat days a week is going to have to stop. The most lame thing is I do great during the day but lose it at like 7 pm. I can workout like a crazed maniac, but I have always struggled with my diet. And for anyone that had any doubt... I am living proof that diet is 80% of how you look. Anyway. I have 41 points for this week. If I add righ,t that makes my total is 134!?

Christian Week 2

This week I thought it would be hard with two family parties but luckily there weren't a lot of desserts only one at each so I didn't have any at one family party (didn't look so good to me to even think about it) and the other I took my cheat day on one little brownie. :)  I lost 3 pounds and 1 inch.  So my total is 52 points.  Grand total 104.   This week I think I'll have to push my workouts harder the one today didn't seem to kill me like it did last week.  I could actually get up off the ground and move unlike last week where I was crawling for a drink of water lol.

Amy's Second Week

I say "amen" to what Danna said, this week was a lot harder!  I ate a treat with my family for Family Home Evening after we went mini golfing, so I was going to use that for my cheat day.  However, we then went to Lagoon a few days later and I wanted to try funnel cake . . . I have NEVER tried it before and it was calling my name: Amy, Amy, I am delicious, come and taste me.  Curse you funnel cake and curse you Lagoon!  I  had two cheat days, I didn't lose any pounds, but I did lose an inch on my thighs and an inch on my waist.  So is that one point or two?  Anyway, I have either 49 or 50 points this week.

Nana's week 2

I used my cheat day this week for my birthday party==ate all the food offered at my family's Surprize Birthday Party for me, including jello, dutch oven potato and BBQ chicken, pasta pasta dish, and I even ate some of my birthday cake with ice-cream.(only one serving of each!)  My family was happy for me but secretly I wondered how my points were going to be.  Another big surprize==I lost a pound and 2 inches.  Maybe it will show up on my 3rd week since my party was the very last day of week 2.  Oh well, my points were 52 so I am at 104.  Keep going, everyone:)  Marsha

Danna's Week 2

This week has been a lot harder. I always seem to feel all my cravings come back with a vengeance after a week or so of eating well. I kinda fell apart over the weekend, indulging in my vice 4 days this week. :-(  Somehow, I still managed to lose 2 lbs (I don't measure inches) so that gave me a little boost. My total for the week is only 43 points. My clothes are fitting more loose though, so I know my body is still changing. Hopefully I can improve this week. Kinda frustrating that even with the large variety of fresh vegetables I have access to, I'm still having such a hard time getting my 3 a day. I still have much work to do. I am not giving up.

Eric and point totals

Hi I'm Eric, My wife (Karin) is writing this because I am too busy to do it and also because I don't want to.  I work from home right now promoting a new Joseph Smith film that will be released in Utah in the fall.  You should all come see it when it is released!  Ok, enough of the commercial. 

I am a Beachbody Coach and have done P90X and other beachbody programs multiple times.  I am redoing P90X right now.  I love it!  I has definitely changed my life in many ways.  (By the way, if Eric was actually writing this it would be much more funny and witty, so sorry.) 

My goals for this challenge are to lose 15 pounds of body fat.  My vice is talking crappy about myself or negatively about myself and my talents.  The first week I lost 2 pounds and 2 inches and had all the points so my total was 52.  This week I didn't lose any weight but lost 1 inch so my total is 50.  Grand total 102. 
This has been good for me to get back into healthy eating.  Good luck everyone!

So pretty good week.  I am doing really good with all the points.  My only difficult day was Monday because I wanted to eat everything in site but I stuck to only healthy things in site instead of the crap that I wanted. :-)  I didn't lose any weight this week, just stayed the same but I lost 1 in.  Still nothing around  my big bahuda but I will be patient.  Still 10 weeks to go!!  Hope you all had a great second week too.  My point total is 50.  Grand total 102.

My internet has been having problems all week so I haven't been able to post but its working today, Yeah!  I lost 2 lbs and 1 inch so I think if I did it correctly I got 52 points.  This week has been great and I have one more workout to go.

Clarify points

Hey everyone, It looks like the points system is a little confusing.  The easiest way to keep track is to start the week with the total 49 points and then subtract when you don't do something or you cheat.  Then at the end of the week weight and measure and if you get any of the 3 bonus points then add that on to what you have left over. 

For example if I do all of the rules I have all 49 of my points at the end of the week.  Then I lose 1 pound and 1 in.  That means I get 2 bonus points and so my total for the week would be 51 points.  I hope that makes sense.  Please email me if you still have questions.

Focus on myself!!!

Hello!  I am Laura, one of Christian's long time friends.  I am excited to start this challenge - I hope it is the incentive I need to final start lossing not gaining.  I have 3 girls, the youngest is 7, so the baby thing is not my excuse it is the old thing.  My vice will be desserts and watching my in between meal snacks.  My goal is 7-10 pounds.  I did well this week and lost 1 pound - so my 1st week points are 50 - I am really surprised with myself and looking forward at this next week!

Amy's First Week

I am so excited!  I really did not eat any treats or desserts this past week (except for on my cheat day)!  I really didn't know if I could do it - I guess it really does help to have someone (or a lot of someones) to be accountable to each week.  The exercise was hard for me to find the time to do but I hurried and fed my sweet baby and finished up my last bit of exercise just before midnight!  Ha, ha!  Thank heavens for my treadmill and my patient husband.  I lost 2 lbs. so I have 51 points!  Yahoo!

Overall the week went very well. I lost 4 lbs, ate well and DEFINITELY met my exercise requirement. My total for this week is 50 points! (dang 3 veggies a day is gonna take some discipline) This has been good for me. I am stopping to think about what I am putting into my body. Thanks Ladys

I had a good first week!  I got all my points, woohoo, and lost 4 pounds, 1.5 in on my waist and .5 on my thigh.  (Nothing on my butt this week but there is plenty of time, right??)  My total is 52!  Hope you all are doing great too and seeing some results.  Keep up the good work.

So far, so good

This is great!  I'm feeling and seeing changes already. I even had a little surgery this week and lost 5 pounds (no, I didn't get it cut off! lol!). I wasn't able to exercise a few days, but I was dilligent with everything else. I earned 45 points.  Saying affirmations have encouraged me. We are going on vacation this week, so a little tricky. I figure this is a lifestye change and I'm certainly not cutting out my vacations. I will need to plan a little more with my food and work more to fit exercise in. Here goes week two!

Hi I am Stacy

Karin's neighbor. I am soooo excited about this adventure. I so needed something to get my nutrition and exercise back on track! A year ago I did an amazing 90 day program. It was life changing. I learned so much and released 30 lbs and 33 inches. A year latter I am doing great! However the past 2 months we have had company, been out of town... And my nutrition stunk and getting back to the gym was a challenge.
Then I got the email from Karin. YEA!!!
This first week has been awesome. My nutrition A++. I feel great when I eat things that are good for me.
My vice is processed carbs ie(bread, pasta, crackers..) except for corn chips with salsa!!! No candy, desserts...

Okay, end of the first week- Just to double check my counting:  I lost 1 lb, so 1 point,  exercised 150 min, so 7, drank and ate right for 5 days, (oops, 2 cheat days;o) so 12 points,  7 for a free cheat day...for a total of 27.  Is this right?  Hmmmm it seems small.  help me out...

Lose those rolls that is ;) Hi, I'm Christian, Trish's sister-in-law.  My goal is to lose 7-10 pounds.  After 3 kids I need to lose that last baby weight (I have 5 but we won't count the first and last since the first one was 19 years ago and the last one was adopted)  My vice is sugar, basically desserts and candy.  I'm excited!

Hi, this is Heather...

Okay, thanks to Eric(you weren't home, Kari) I finally figured out how to post!  Yay for me.  I am NOT a blogger- so this is my first ever post.  So I am a mother of 4, and would like to get my body back to where it once was, as much as possible.  I always told myself that when I was done having babies I would be more proactive, and that day has arrived!  My goal is to lose 7-10 lbs and pass the pencil test.  (your butt and inner thigh not able to hold a pencil between the two of them.)  Lofty, I know, but I'm shooting for the moon.  My vice is all things junk.  Sweets, saltys, everything.  Good luck to all!

Week 1 July 18, 2011

Hello everyone I'm Trish.  Kari's sister.  My vice this time around is still every kind of junk food.  i.e.  No salty chips, crackers, preztels, cheetos, no chocolate, candy dessert, basically nothing that is bad for you.  Again I am giving myself no cheat day, it worked well for me last time so I am doing it that way again.  My goal is to lose a little more and also maintain.  I just want to look Super HOT when my husband gets home for leave and home home too.  Good luck everyone, Later, Trish

Have a Great First Week!

Hello everyone, I am Karin or Kari (I go by both).  I too, like many of you have already posted struggle with my weight and love candy, treats, desserts, etc.  I like to work out and have been doing so consistently for years but I tend to go through phases where my eating is great and I look great and then my eating is crap and I gain 25 pounds.  I am a Beachbody Coach for about a year and a half now and I really enjoy trying to help people reach their health and fitness goals.  My long term goal is to be a great example to my children about living a healthy life. 

Trish and I just finished a 90 day challenge and I was able to lose 15 pounds and I am very happy with those results.  We decided to do another challenge because we liked being accountable for what we put in our mouths!!  My goal over this 90 days is to lose 15 pounds and lose at least 3 inches off my butt.  My vice is going to be candy, treats, desserts.  I'm excited for everyone involved and I know we can do anything we put our minds to!  Have a great first week.

Hi all,  My name is Cyndee and I am Karin and Tricia's mom.  My vice is eating junk when I read and I read a lot, so consequently I need to not eat when I read.  My goal is to get looking better so I can buy a swim suit.  We will be going to the Texas gulf on a convention in October and I want to be able to wear a swim suit instead of knee shorts on the beach.

Lifestyle Change

Hi, I'm Melanie. This is a wonderful opportunity!  I think this accountability will serve me well. This is a head game for me. I want to conquer my emotions. The emotions I feel from my extra weight are just not healthy. However, I continue to emotionally eat. At 40, I am recognizing this is not just about my pants size anymore. I want to live long, be healthy and strong, be a good example to my children, and spiritually free myself from this food addiction so I can grow. In my head I know change is possible, but in my heart I fear I will fail...again. I am implementing positive affirmations, an exercise schedule, and planning my meals. My vice is negative self talk. I am losing 20 pounds over 90 days. I have a beautiful hope filled book about becoming. One page states, She went out on a limb, it broke, and she learned she could fly. Let's fly girls!

OK...Here I go!!!

Hi, everybody! I'm Shanna! Quite a bit like Danna, I too am an addict.... an addict of sugar and anything delicious. I am also an emotional eater, which has been a very big struggle for me. A little about myself.... I have struggled with weight since second grade. My weight has been on a consistent rollercoaster, and I have consequently been diagnosed with some early stages of different health problems. I started my weight loss journey 18 months ago, losing 104 lbs, but I still have 21 to go. These last pounds are a huge struggle for me. Thank you for letting me be part of this challenge! This is, I hope, what I need to finish out my journey.
OK...I have several vices: sugar, grazing/binge eating, etc.  The one I chose to focus on here is my problem with grazing/binge eating. My goal is to not eat anything I do not account for. I will, however, also be setting a goal to limit my sweets to no more than 200 calories on a regular day, and one regular dessert on cheat day. My weight loss goal is to lose at least ten pounds during this challenge.

Nana

This is a new experience for me and I am so excited to have some motivation to stay on track.  Since I went through menopause I have gained lbs. that I definitely do not want to entertain anymore!  I would like to loose a couple dozen of them.  My grandkids call me Nana and I tend half of them everyday so their parents can work without the expence of daycare.  I enjoy them but I would like to have more energy to keep up with them, that is why I have picked up on this challenge.  I am looking forward to happier, healthier days to share with my little kiddos.  My addiction is also SUGAR:) I even think the word is beautiful!  So, that is what I am going to battle against.  My hubby likes to bring home doughnuts every Friday and all my kids and grandkids come--I just need them to finish them off!  There always seems to be just a few left at the end of the day and I am the one who cleans up at the end of the day.  But now I will find another way to "clean up" the doughnuts!  I wish you all the best.  I will confess that I am not doing this for the kitty pot--I am doing it so I can have the energy and health to enjoy my grandkiddos!  Kudos to you all for your efforts, Marsha:)

So it begins... I'm Danna, and I'm an addict... oh wait, is this a meeting?? Nevermind. Seems to me like Amy and I are going to have a lot in common. I too just had a baby, and he was also my fourth (though I have two boys and two girls) and if you had seen me eat during my pregnancy you'd know that my TRUE vice is food. But, since I can't starve, I'll tackle the most challanging for me, and that is sugar. At the end of my pregnancy I was 75 lbs over my "normal" weight. YEAH. I've got some work to do. So far I have lost about half of what I would like to lose and my goal for this challage is to lose another 15 lbs. It's going to be an adventure. Thanks, Karin, for the challange. It's gonna be on heck of a ride!
